| Fun Adventure Learning |
|
Scouts in Manchester Troop 25 enjoy many fun, adventurous and educational activities through monthly outdoor events and the Summer Scout Camp. Outdoor camping, Appalachian Trail hikes, canoeing, and a ski trip are a few of the regular activities. Scouts also learn first aid and water safety and about the environment in which we live. |
| Leadership |
Scouts learn to lead and to work as a team. Under the guidance of adults, Scouts are challenged to learn and grow through the Troop activities and the leading of younger Scouts. |
| Lifetime Friendships |
Scouts grow-up together and develop strong friendships through the fun, learning, and adventure that can last a lifetime. |
| Camp Kirkham |
Troop 25 owns and operates Camp Kirkham as a Summer Scout Camp. The camp is located on a New Hampshire lake and is staffed by volunteer members of the Troop. All Scouts attend summer camp for two weeks in August. |
| Advanced Summer Programs |
Older Scouts may participate in the Advanced Summer Program of trail hikes, canoe trips, and other activities. |
| Opportunities For Learning |
Scouts become certified in the complete American Red Cross First Aid and Water Safety programs provided by the Troop. Those who successfully complete the training will become lifeguards certified by the American Red Cross. |
| International Scouting |
Troop 25 hosts Scouts from different countries each year. The Scouts of Troop 25 meet, learn from, and become friends with Scouts from all over the world. They have come from countries like England, France, Germany, and Costa Rica, to name only a few. |
| Becoming An Eagle Scout |
The highest rank in Scouting is Eagle Scout. Reaching the level of Eagle Scout is recognized both in and outside of Scouting as an achievement of distinction and merit. Every member of the Troop has the opportunity to become an Eagle Scout. Over 350 Scouts from Troop 25 have attained this rank. |
| Bermuda |
Scouts in their final year spend a week in Bermuda. Scouts take in many of the historical and cultural sites as well as enjoying the natural wonders. |
| Program Schedule |
Meetings of Troop 25 are held Wednesday nights from September to May. Meetings are not held during school vacations or on religious holidays. Scouts attend meetings regularly. Most new Scouts enter Troop 25 at the end of the Fifth Grade. Older boys are also welcome. Uniforms may be bought new or may be purchased from the Troop Used Uniform Service for a very nominal fee. Neckerchiefs and badges are provided by the Troop. Scouts are not required to live in Manchester and Troop 25 does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color or national origin. Troop 25 seeks Scouts interested in participating regularly in the fun, adventure, and learning activities of the Scouts. |
| Program Fees |
Yearly Dues and Summer Camp Payments for Troop 25 can be seen by clicking the links. Some scholarship aid for summer camp may be provided. For over 60 years no Scout has been unable to attend summer camp for financial reasons. |
